2SLGBTQIA+ and Allyship: IN-PERSON

An in-person support group for parents, caregivers, family members and partners of transgender and gender diverse children and adults. A space to share their experiences and stories as they work to understand and support their loved ones. This is a partnership group with Pride YMM. Please note registration is appreciated but not required. Drop ins are accepted, please email us for further details. Meets first Monday of each month @ 6:30pm

Join us for this two-hour workshop where we will discuss Gender, Sexuality, and Allyship. We will discuss topics that support us in defining what identity means as an LGBTQIA2S+ person. Gender, coming out, vulnerability, and positive trends in the community will be discussed as well as how to be supports for one another.  We will explore, engage, and empower ourselves as we dive into this topic.

Good relationships require the use of effecive communication tools and skills. In this course, you will gain insight into why people may misinterpret us or respond the way they do. You will improve your personal understanding and awareness, and learn how to get the most out of all of your relationships. You will set individual recovery goals, meet new friends and build the confidence to live your best quality of life in your community.

Emotions are a comlpetely normal, usually healthy part of being human. But when it gets out of control and turns destructive, it can lead to problems - problems at work, in your personal relationships, and in the overall quality of life. This course is meant to help you understand and control your emotions before they control you. We will explore relaxation techniques, cognitive restructuring, problem solving, and better forms of communication.
